“One Two Freddy’s Coming For You”

September 29, 2011

Or you know, be the one to seek him out…

@ Universal Studio’s Halloween Horror Nights

100 Universal City Plaza

Universal City, CA 91608

You can find all the scary you little heart can take on these dates:

Sept. 23-24, 30: Oct. 1, 7-9, 14-16, 20-23, 27-31

“Get, getcha getcha getcha getcha getcha freak on”. For the record, I have been pretty disappointed with Hollywood’s turn out of haunted houses during my favorite holiday, but let’s just say I finally found the holy spooky grail. If you are like me and want to bask in the land of the freaks, you can squeal, scratch and jump your way through the backlot at Universal Studios. Universal has stepped up to the plate and mastered the costumes and screams.

It’s a fine tuned, well-oiled machine. Where else can you get scared on the actual set of Psycho? My favorite part was cowardly crawling and screaming my way through the War of the Worlds’ plane crash set as zombies emerge.  Say what you will about that movie, the set is impressive. In addition, there are free roaming creatures scattered around the park just waiting to pray on you the second you let your guard down. Watch out and remember – “Ray, when someone asks you if you’re a god, you say ‘YES’!”

They also have the rides in their back pocket, if you aren’t satisfied after all that.

Hint: Front of the line pass, is the best money I have ever spent.  Trust me, just pay it with no questions asked. I did and walked past hours of lines to be the first to get a seat on the ride or the next one up to walk through a maze.

Get ready to be scared out of your living mind. All the action is going on this weekend and goes until Halloween. As it gets closer to Halloween it gets more crowded and prices go up. So go while the getting is good.

Or you could just “grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over.”
