Weird Al says, “Just eat it, eat it, just eat it, eat it, ooh”

August 23, 2011

Mingle with your neighbors and try some creations from all over L.A. on Tuesday nights.

Hop, skip and jump over to the gathering of food trucks from 5:30-9:30pm on Main Street. They take over the Victorian lot (where the farmer’s market usually is on Saturdays). You know that place, right? Night time community eating is a nice addition to the Santa Monica circle of trust.

There are a lot of trucks to choose from and even some dessert choices.  Also there is an interesting addition to the food truck craze and normal congregation. There is a small Basement bar set up outside. Go ahead, and grab some drinks to sip on while you munch away. Go easy though, you don’t want Stiles talking you into urban surfing on the BBQ truck. It’s not really outfitted as a Wolf Mobile yet.

You can saddle up to a small table, bench, brick wall or even have a seat on the grassy knoll with your picks for the night. It’s close to the ocean, so you beach people don’t have to travel too far from the surf. You can even acceptably wear your flip-flops, hoodies, and newest hobo combo.

Mingling is free and possible while you decide, inspect your options and wait for your order. You most likely will even run into some people you already know. And not just because you told them to meet you there, at that time, in front of that tree. Maybe this could be a step up from your usual coffee Match meeting date. At least there are options.

There are different trucks every week, so they are endless. Well not really endless, but choices nevertheless. To keep up on them go here http://tinyurl.com/mainstlot

Mix it up some more and head down into the Basement bar afterwards. You can keep the mingling or a progressed canoodling rolling into the later hours.
