Cheesy Love

July 27, 2011

The Salty Yin to Sweet’s Yang. A partnership built to last, unlike one with Hefner.

People, this is a Mac & Cheese Pancake at Blue Plate on Montana Ave.

AND this is what it is like when you eat one.

If you haven’t heard of this invention yet, well get your sweet little butt over to Montana Ave.

Blue Plate

1415 Montana Ave
Santa Monica CA 90403

I’d like to state for the record, Blue Plate has one of the most delicious versions out there. It’s a perfect marriage of salty and sweet like Jay Z and Beyoncé or Sookie and Eric. If you are like me and prefer a little less saccharine, you don’t need to top it with maple syrup. The wonderful cheesy pasta middle surrounded by a light fluffy pancake cloud goes down just perfectly with the light cheese topping. Each bite is pure delight.

While you are there, you must try the grilled corn on the cob side, with basil butter and parmesan cheese as well. Trust me, you won’t be sorry.

I love Blue Plate because they offer down home cooking with inventive healthy versions. Feel free to hum a little Etta James “At Last” when you take a seat at this place. I’m sure they are used to it.

Oh and there are plenty of options for vegetarians too.

Squints says you will be in LOVE “For-ev-ver! For-ev-ver! For-ev-ver! For-ev-ver!”
